Chris Valentine

Chris Valentine was never able to put a full season in while playing for the Chocolate and White. Each of his three seasons were interrupted by a recall to the NHL Washington Capitals. The Belleville, Ontario native had three productive seasons with Hershey and even scored 67 points in 60 games with the Capitals as a rookie in 1981-82. However, the 1982-83 season brought Valentine back to Hershey for the majority of the season. While in Hershey, Valentine averaged better than a point a game in each season. Valentine played 105 NHL games with the Caps and registered an impressive 95 points. It seems his North American career should have been longer, much longer.
By the 1984-85 season the NHL dream was done and Valentine landed in Germany for another 10 plus seasons. While with Dusseldorf, Valentine established himself as one of the great Canadian imports of the 1980's and 1990's. The forward averaged better than two points a game with his best season reflecting 103 points in a mere 45 games.
Today Valentine serves as Head Coach for the Linz hockey club in Austria. Prior to coaching in Austria, Valentine served as Head Coach for a handful of German clubs.
